This project will be one of the largest paving projects the City of Bedford has undertaken.

Bedford Redevelopment Commission also passed a resolution to capture Incremental Assessed Value from the city’s TIF districts for possible future projects in the City of Bedford.

There is approximately $294 million in net assessed value over the last five years, from the City of Bedford’s three TIF districts. This generates approximately $2.4 million a year in revenue from the TIF areas.

The projects under consideration include:

  • Road construction improvements to improve consolidated areas which include improving road conditions and paving
  • Public Safety/ Service equipment and buildings
  • Restoration/Relocation of City Hall
  • Roundabout at Beech Street and John Williams Boulevard
  • Potential redemption of 2017 Revenue Bond (USDA Loan) which is a loan for the StoneGate Arts and Education Center.

The USDA loan amount is $3.5 million, with approximately $ 3.26 million remaining for the loan in February 2037 for the StoneGate Arts and Education Center.

The projected costs of a proposed roundabout at the intersection of John Williams Boulevard and Beech Street were estimated at $1.8 million in 2019.

The Bedford Redevelopment Commission will decide at a later time which future project the group will support.
