Oceania Cruises debuts new itineraries including nearly two months in the Med

The cruises on Marina and Nautica will take in iconic islands in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Adriatic, and come at a time when Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) statistics show the Mediterranean is one of the top three cruising destinations for Australians.

Each Oceania itinerary is new every year, with 2025 sailings including overnight stays in Istanbul – an area the cruise line is keen on expanding, giving guests the chance for deeper immersion in the Turkish city.

Athens, Barcelona, Istanbul, Rome and Lisbon are some of the destinations included in the 16 voyages, with experiences including exploring Santorini’s active volcanoes and Europe’s southernmost fjord, Boka Bay while in Montenegro.

Culinary Discovery tours

Oceania Cruises President, Frank A. Del Rio, says it has included excursions to “inspire everyone, from active adventurous types to history buffs to foodies”.

On new dedicated culinary discovery tours, guests walk into the heart of the Greek island of Rhodes’ Old Town to the Hatzikelis Taverna to learn how the restaurant sources fish and produce before a tour of the family kitchen.

And in Corfu, enjoy a guided walk through the Old Town’s market, and return to the ship for a Greek cooking class using the ingredients you collected on your tour.

Refresh for Marina

This year Marina will undergo a refurbishment adding three new dining options including wellness-focused, Aquamar Kitchen; an expanded ice cream parlour, and a casual alfresco trattoria serving Italian dishes.

The penthouse suites will also have a complete refurbishment with custom-crafted furniture as well as more closets and cabinetry, new carpets and upholstery, updated modern lighting and a restyled bathroom with Italian marble.

Journeys on Marina begin in May with a nine-day sailing from Barcelona to Athens and include sailings throughout October from Istanbul to Athens, and Athens to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Nautica sets sail from July for 12 days from Istanbul to Athens, with two-week sailings in August and September.

A series of ‘Grand Voyages’ includes a 56-day journey from Rome to Miami.
