Ex-VP Jallow-Tambajang Urges Togo’s Election Observers to Observe Professionalism

Former Gambian vice president Mrs. FatoumataJallow-Tambajang has urged ECOWAS election monitors to conduct themselves withprofessionalism and objectivity as they observe Togo’s regional and legislative elections on April 29th.

Madam Jallow-Tambajang is the head of ECOWAS election monitors and she made these remarks during the briefing of 40 election observers in Lome on Saturday.

“We are here to monitor the election not to give instructions or dictate things,” she advisedobservers in the briefing ahead of the crucial exercises in Togo.

She advocated for the peaceful conduct of theelections which, she said, should contribute to Togo’s development and prosperity.

She capitalized on the briefing to commend the huge deployment for the election observer mission in Togo.

Madam Tambajang’s appointment as the 1st woman to head an Election Observation Mission for ECOWAS has been described as an acknowledgment of her exemplary qualities.

Meanwhile, the former Gambian VP paid a courtesy call to the President of Togo’s Independent National Electoral Commission Dago Yabre
