This year’s Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship will be held in Brisbane, Queensland from May 24 to June 2, 2024.
The Championship holds added significance as the top teams will battle for qualification to the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup in England.
Participating in the championship are national women’s teams from Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, and Papua New Guinea, each aiming for one of the two available spots for Oceania in the WXV 3 Division.
The champion of the Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship will automatically secure the first spot.
Furthermore, the runner-up will claim the second Oceania spot in the WXV 3 Division and will have the opportunity to compete for one of the five remaining slots in the 2024 WXV 2 – 3 Competition.
This competition offers a pathway for the highest five placed non-qualified teams across WXV 2 – 3 to advance to the 2025 Rugby World Cup.
