RESOURCES FOR THIS WEEK"S TOPICS:

Just about two weeks remain until the Nov. 7 election. Orchard Hills Maplewood Homeowners Association is hosting a forum on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 4 p.m. for Ward 2 Ann Arbor City Council candidates Jane Lumm and Jared Hoffert. The event will be held at the Ann Arbor District Library's Traverwood Branch.  You can get more info about what's on the ballot at AnnArborVotes.org or the League of Women Voters' Vote411.org.

Related to the election, the Washtenaw County clerk's staff is holding another open house if you want to check out new voting equipment that will be deployed on Nov. 7. It's from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the county's Learning Resource Center, 4135 Washtenaw.  More info is also online.

The city of Ann Arbor is looking at upgrading its infrastructure, and as part of that, they're conducting a Cost of Service (COS) study for drinking water and wastewater rates.  A public advisory committee is meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. at the water treatment plant as part of an ongoing effort to make recommendations to city council.  The city has a ton of info online, and now's the time to weigh in.

Autumn leaves aren't the only orange objects in our scenery – road construction season hasn't ended yet!  Work will start or continue in several parts of the Ann Arbor area, and there are several resources to keep you informed.  Those include the City of Ann Arbor's Road and Lane Closures website, the Washtenaw County Road Commission's weekly road work update, and Michigan Department of Transportation's MI Drive site.  Stay informed and stay safe!

Speaking of roads, Washtenaw County has developed several driving and "virtual" tours around historic themes, including food, barns, German heritage, Greek Revival architecture and the Willow Run Bomber Plant.  Your tax dollars help support heritage tourism in Washtenaw County, and autumn is a lovely time to explore.  Click here to learn more!
