Motorists can be thankful this Thanksgiving as New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced that non-essential lane and bridge closures are suspended through the morning of November 27.

The Associated Press reports the move is intended to ease traffic concerns during one of the busiest travel times of the year.  AAA statistics show close to 51 million people are expected to venture over 50 miles from home over the holiday.

Law enforcement agencies aren't taking time off, though.  Officers will be looking for impaired and dangerous drivers.
