The ruling party Zanu PF will not sweep all the 26 constituencies in Masvingo Province because of the ‘bhora musango’ effect, analysts have said.

Both Zanu and MDC are likely to lose key Parliamentary seats in the province as irate elements from both parties vow to spoil the party for imposed candidates.

In Masvingo Urban Constituency there are three frontrunners in the race to win the hot seat.

Independent Parliamentary Candidate Sam Chapfudza, MDC Alliance’ s Jacob Nyokanhete and Benjamin Taguma Mazarire are the leading contenders in Masvingo Urban Constituency.

Speaking in an interview with ZimEye.com yesterday, Chapfudza said he was optimistic about victory despite squaring off with candidates from the two main political parties in the country.

“I believe that the Lord will grant me the grace to win this election.I have faith in God and I have always said it is not by might nor by power- but by the spirit of God,” said Chapfudza.

“Masvingo is lagging behind in terms of development, the Masvingo- Harare Road Construction is stagnant because of lack of representation.

It is now time for us to stand up and be counted,” said Chapfudza.
